The Centre For Advanced Materials Research - CIMAV (Mexico), in cooperation with the MITACS Network of Centres of Excellence (Canada) and the Consulate General of Canada in Monterrey, will be holding a Science-Industry Workshop on March 29 and 30th, 2010 in Chihuahua, México, to address these priority issues.

This bilateral workshop, oriented to commercial application, is fully subsidised. We encourage you to become part of this extremely valuable alliance of business and science by confirming your participation today.

The two day meeting will start with a one-day interactive workshop in which industry representatives and leading scientists from both countries will meet to explore and discuss:

Discussion and networking will be a key feature of this workshop where we will seek ways in which science and industry can overcome barriers and move innovative technologies from the lab to the marketplace.

Day 2 will see the academic participants meeting to discuss their university-based research projects. Industry members have an opportunity to learn first-hand about leading-edge research innovations and discuss upcoming advances in new technologies that could increase their bottom line.

Day 2 will also provide the Canadian industry participants, through the Office of the Consulate General of Canada in Monterrey, an opportunity to meet with local industries and agencies to explore knowledge exchange, collaborative and business opportunities, as part of the Canada-Mexico Partnership, a catalyst for action between government, the private sector and academia. (http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/mexico-mexique/cmp-pcm.aspx?lang=eng)
